With long travel times between the plant and job sites, contractors will sometimes request accelerators to be added on-site. This means that, upon reaching a project, drivers will have to carry the accelerator up a ladder and into the back of the mixer.

To mitigate the potential risks of this request, a group of in-house experts participated in an SLT project. Together, they developed the concept of using a portable pump that will transfer the liquid accelerators from their containers, into their waterline, and up into the mixer, while the driver is able to stay on the ground. Using the risk assessment matrix, the team reduced the overall risk by 92%.
